CVdubX ~ This is DubJazz!

Clyde the Blynd, a Jazz Trumpet player and composer from Oakland, fell in love with Reggae and Dub musics while studying Jazz in college. CV dub (clyde version dub) formed in 2005. The DubJazz musical concept simply put - to play traditional 60's and 70's era studio one-type rhythms while adding and removing parts (dubbing). This is done live on stage with jazz improvisations.

At first CVdub played small clubs all around the bay, building a small but dedicated audience. During this period the DubJazz sound solidified. Eventually CVdub gained notoriety in the bay, opening for significant acts like Lee Scratch Perry, Don Carlos, Michael Rose and Richie Spice. People were taking notice …

On the cusp of success - with an album being recorded and produced by Michael Urbano (Smahmouth), Clyde had a massive stroke in 2013. The music paused for 9 painful years. Now with Clyde healthy and strong again, (he credits his fishwife's Vital Itals) the band reformed as CVdubX in '22. Digging deep into the DubJazz sound CVdubX now sports a DJ ana a 2nd Horn player.

Clyde the Blynd says "This instrumental mashup presents as a slow grooving pageant of sound and textures".

Enjoy!
